About The Position
USA Health Providence Gastroenterology, part of the University of South Alabama’s academic health system, is seeking a full-time, board-eligible or board-certified gastroenterologist in Mobile, Alabama. The practice offers strong patient demand, an established primary care referral base, advanced practice provider support, and resources from a comprehensive regional health system. The physician may focus on general gastroenterology or advanced procedures, with the opportunity to shape a practice around their clinical interests. ERCP and EUS experience or interest is welcomed but not required. The role includes a combination of clinic and procedure time across 230 working days annually. Procedural resources include six endoscopy rooms, growing ERCP volume, and in-office FibroScan capability. USA Health Providence is a 349-bed, full-service hospital with 24/7 emergency care and programs in heart care, bariatric surgery, cancer care, and maternity care. Its connection to the University of South Alabama academic health system supports patient care, education, and research. Electronic medical records include Cerner and Athena.
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship.
- Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Eligible for an unrestricted Alabama medical license.
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care, with strong communication and collaborative skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in general gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures.
- Advanced endoscopy training or experience with ERCP and EUS; ERCP and EUS experience or interest is welcomed but not required.
