About The Position

Sanford Clinic Luverne is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Family Medicine physician for a 0.75 FTE position. This role involves 3 clinic days and hospital call for Luverne, with approximately 4 days of call per month or 2 days per pay period. The practice includes 7 family practice MDs, 3 APPs, and 1 General Surgeon, seeing an average of 20-25 patients per day. The clinic is supported by a robust hospital and surgical department, as well as additional support from a Behavioral Health Counselor, Integrated Health Therapist, RN Care Manager, Substance Use Counselors, PMHNP, and Pharmacist. Nursing home responsibility is shared, with Medical Directorships available. The ER is staffed by Status Health, and surgical emergencies are handled by on-call GS providers or transported to Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD, depending on severity. The job description for Family Medicine Core Privileges includes the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit patients (if applicable), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions, and functional disorders. This includes pre-operative and post-operative medical care of surgical patients and return to work issues.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree
Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable
If not board certified at the time of application, must have completed residency training within the last five years and achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement
Demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under the age of 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months (if not applying directly out of residency)
If not applying directly out of residency, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications
If applicant has just completed residency, provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable
