About The Position

Open Door Community Health Centers is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join their integrated care team at McKinleyville CHC in McKinleyville, California. This is an outpatient practice with excellent work-life balance, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for teaching, mentorship, and leadership. The Primary Care Physician will provide comprehensive, patient-centered outpatient care for a panel of patients across the lifespan in a rural Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting. The physician will diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions, emphasize preventive care, and coordinate specialty services. Working as part of an interdisciplinary care team, the physician will play a critical role in improving access to high-quality healthcare for an underserved rural community.

Requirements

• Successful completion of accredited medical school (MD Degree Required)
• Completion of accredited Internal or Family Medicine Residency Program required
• Current, unrestricted California physician and surgeon license
• Current DEA registration
• Current Board Certification in specialty of practice (or board eligible if a newer graduate)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Valid California driver's license with an insurable driving record

Responsibilities

• Provides comprehensive, patient-centered outpatient care for a panel of patients across the lifespan in a rural Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting.
• Diagnoses, treats, and manages acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Emphasizes preventive care.
• Coordinates specialty services when needed.
• Works as part of an interdisciplinary care team to improve access to high-quality healthcare for an underserved rural community.
• Helps patients receive timely, comprehensive care close to home and reduces the need to travel outside the region for essential medical services.
