About The Position

Sanford Health has an opening for a Fellowship trained Colorectal Surgeon Hospitalist to join its Surgery Department in Fargo, North Dakota. Experienced candidates preferred but new graduates are welcome to apply. The additional surgeon is needed due to our continued practice growth both locally and regionally. Join a group of 3 colorectal surgeons and 16 other surgeons experienced in breast surgery, bariatric surgery, oncology surgery, general surgery, trauma and acute care surgery. This role involves full time hospital coverage and urgent/emergent OR cases with flexible scheduling, 182 shifts/year. A DaVinci XI and DV5 robot are available, and the position is at a Level 1 trauma center. The role includes teaching of surgical residents and medical students through the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Requirements

M.D. or D.O. degree
Successful completion of an accredited General Surgery Residency followed by a fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery
Must hold an active medical license for each state in which the physician practices – either physically or virtually.
Must have a DEA for each state in which the physician physically practices.
Board Certified in Colon & Rectal Surgery by the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery or equivalent (American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada). If physician is not board certified upon commencement of employment, they must achieve board certification as outlined in the privileging documents.
