About The Position

The licensed Chiropractor shall provide care to patients at the Sanford Health Ambulatory Clinic setting and be able to order diagnostic test in the outpatient setting. The licensed Chiropractor shall be responsible for the care that he or she provides to patients pursuant to this policy, and shall make such documentation in the patient's medical record as is appropriate and necessary for the care and safety of the patient. Such medical record documentation shall be consistent with the medical staff rules and regulations and relevant policies. Chiropractor may perform history and physical that is limited to the neuromusculoskeletal injuries and with direct chiropractic implications. May order diagnostic test to evaluate neuromusculoskeletal injury in the outpatient setting. (Abnormal results that are out of the realm of a chiropractor require referral or consultation to an MD/DO) Evaluation and facilitation of structural, biomechanical, and neurological function and integrity through the use of adjustment, manipulation, mobilization or other procedures accomplished by manual or mechanical forces applied to bones or joints and their related soft tissues for correction of vertebral subluxation, other abnormal articulations.

Requirements

  • D.C. degree accredited by the Council of Chiropractic Education (CCE).
  • Must meet continuing education requirements imposed by the applicable licensing or regulatory agency or by the Sanford Health Clinic.
  • Must have successfully cared for at least 50 patients that required chiropractic services in the last 12 months or completion of chiropractic program in the last 12 months.
  • Experience must correlate with the privileges requested.
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Chiropractor in the state where requesting Allied Health appointment.
  • Successfully completed the examination offered by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE).

Nice To Haves

  • A letter of reference must come from the director of the applicant’s chiropractic program, if applicant is applying directly out of program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients at the Sanford Health Ambulatory Clinic setting.

  • Make appropriate and necessary documentation in the patient's medical record for the care and safety of the patient, consistent with medical staff rules and regulations and relevant policies.
  • Perform history and physical limited to neuromusculoskeletal injuries and with direct chiropractic implications.
  • Evaluate and facilitate structural, biomechanical, and neurological function and integrity through chiropractic procedures.
  • Be astute to state and federal laws and regulations governing the chiropractor's scope of practice and practice within those constraints.
  • Be legally accountable for the care provided to patients.
