About The Position

ProHealth Care’s premier behavioral health program seeks to hire a full-time board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist. Join our premier behavioral health program in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, 25 miles west of Milwaukee. Our program includes outpatient therapy, inpatient psychiatric care, a partial hospitalization program, and integrated behavioral health services. You will interact with a team of psychiatrists, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, psychotherapists, and social workers. The candidate reports to the clinical program director, provides psychiatric evaluations, medical management, consultation with patients, and implements appropriate treatment. The Physician - Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist examines and treats general client base to ensure proper injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Prescribes and administers medications, performs routine vaccinations, and provides advice regarding personal health and hygiene. Requests necessary tests, follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a residency in psychiatry
  • Completion of a psychiatric, pediatric, or adolescent residency program from an accredited residency program.
  • Fellowship trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Be American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) eligible in psychiatry and child psychiatry at the time of initial appointment.
  • Wisconsin State licensure required
  • Full ProHealth Waukesha and/or Oconomowoc Memorial Hospitals medical staff membership.
  • Doctoral Degree (MD)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in behavioral health

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced or willing to receive training on TMS therapy to cover clinic supervision coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provides psychiatric evaluation on all new patients and establishes treatment recommendations using age-appropriate techniques.
  • Manages assigned caseload
  • Prescribes and manages patient medication and treatment.
  • Completes psychosocial assessments
  • Maintains appropriate, legible, and timely written patient records and submits patient-billing information accurately and on time.
  • Serves as a collaborator for advanced practice nurses.
  • Supports therapists, as appropriate, in the care of patients or the rendering of services to patients to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Attends educational programs to increase professional competence and learn new developments and approaches in psychiatry.
  • Experienced or willing to receive training on TMS therapy to cover clinic supervision coverage as needed.
