Physician - Cardiothoracic Surgery (PRN)
About The Position
Acclaim Multi-Specialty Group, in partnership with John Peter Smith Hospital (JPS Health Network), is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join its surgical team in Fort Worth, Texas. The role is based at JPS Main Hospital, where the surgeon will work with two full-time cardiothoracic surgeons and a dedicated cardiac surgery operating-room team, fellowship-trained and board-certified cardiothoracic anesthesiologists, and a full-time PA team. The position is open to graduating fellows and experienced cardiothoracic surgeons. The Cardiothoracic Surgeon administers and interprets surgical and consultative care in inpatient and/or outpatient settings. The physician diagnoses and treats cardiac and thoracic conditions, develops treatment plans, performs surgical interventions, and educates patients about preventive care, post-operative recovery, and prescribed treatments. Additional duties may include physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and coordinating care as a primary surgical provider. The position supports JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group in delivering evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care. It also contributes to academic, educational, and research activities and participates in performance improvement and peer review.
Requirements
- Current M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited school of medicine.
- Residency and/or fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas.
- Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care to optimize patient outcomes.
- Review patient medical charts to diagnose and treat patients, manage their care, and educate patients and families.
- Perform adult cardiac and thoracic procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), complex valvular surgery, aortic surgery, TAVR, ECMO, and robotic thoracic surgery.
- Make appropriate patient referrals.
- Follow care-management guidelines and ensure services comply with guidelines established by JPS Health Network and Acclaim Physician Group.
- Provide evidence-based, compassionate, patient-centered care to improve outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate with referring physicians, residents, clinical staff, and support staff to provide quality patient care.
- Support academic, educational, and research endeavors.
- Attend Performance Improvement Programs and Peer Review committee meetings and actively participate in the process.
- Communicate and partner with health network staff, vendors, outside partners, patients, stakeholders, and local community leaders to support a positive brand and patient/customer experience.
- Serve as a resource to the community.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
