About The Position

A locum tenens cardiothoracic surgery physician providing clinical and 24-hour call coverage at a hospital in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Coverage is scheduled from January 15, 2027, through April 16, 2027, with shifts from Friday at 12 p.m. to Monday at 7 a.m. The role serves adult patients and includes rounding. The case mix includes cardiac surgery and urgent cases, including cases from the cath lab. The physician manages postoperative patients in the ICU and discharges patients home, provides backup consultation for surgical cases, and collaborates with one APP. The facility uses EPIC and has surgeon backup available. Hospital privileges are required, temporary privileges are available, and credentialing takes 60 days.

Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania license or Universal License (IMLC).
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiac Surgery.
• DEA required.
• At least 1 year of experience in the specialty.
• Hospital privileges required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour call coverage from Friday at 12 p.m. to Monday at 7 a.m.
• Perform urgent cardiac surgeries, including cases from the cath lab.
• Manage postoperative patients in the ICU and discharge them home.
• Provide backup consultation for surgical cases.
• Collaborate with APP support staff.
• Round on adult patients.
