About The Position

The Department of Physician Assistant Studies and Department of Nutrition and Public Health at the University of Saint Joseph invite applications for a joint, full-time, 12-month non-tenure-track faculty position in PA studies/health science at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor starting in January 2027 or August 2027. The rank will be determined based on the academic and professional qualifications and experiences of the candidate. Candidates are expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The position is a joint faculty appointment between the PA Studies program and the Health Science program. Responsibilities include curriculum development, teaching, assessment, and remediation in both undergraduate and graduate courses as well as student advising. Additional responsibilities include participation in PAS and NUPH department/program meetings, PA Studies admissions, continuous program-analysis, and other responsibilities as assigned. The ideal candidate will have both teaching and clinical experience and use evidence-based best practices in support of the education of health science professionals through an interdisciplinary lens.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
  • Terminal degree for discipline, with a minimum of a Master’s
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certified
  • Active, unencumbered state physician assistant license
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team of highly motivated and experienced individuals
  • Honesty, integrity, and commitment to maintaining high professional standards
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the University and to the highest standards of the profession

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of clinical practice in a licensed discipline preferred
  • Higher education experience preferred
  • Developing or continuing an active program of scholarship preferred
