About The Position

Texas Orthopedics, a division of OrthoLoneStar, is seeking a Part-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to provide excellent, comprehensive orthopedic care, concentrating in adult reconstruction, in the South Austin, Central Austin, and Kyle areas. This role involves providing an advanced level of comprehensive health care to a specific patient population in collaboration with medical staff in a clinical setting. The position focuses on patient evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultations, and health education, with no surgical responsibilities. The ideal candidate will contribute to a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and work-life balance within a team-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Current Texas PA license
  • 1-2 years of orthopedic experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up, consultations and health education appropriate for the patient’s age and situation.
  • Obtains patient histories and develops patient care charges, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation.
  • Orders, obtains and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests.
  • Designs, orders and documents appropriate treatment plans/plans of care including prescriptions of medications based on a comprehensive review of HPI and diagnostic results.
  • Communicates plan of care with the appropriate providers.
  • Communicates plan of care with the patients and family members.
  • Provides patient and family instruction related to the plan of care, new treatment plans, and medication regimens.
  • Provides medical care for injured patients in accordance with accepted standards of care.
  • Performs or assists in any duties required for efficiency, quality, and to meet patients and physicians schedule.
  • Provides health education to patients and families as required and appropriate.
  • Documents medical findings and care provided in the patient’s clinical record, including information of laboratory and radiographic studies.
  • Collaborates with physician or other health care team members regarding patients’ health needs, outcomes and effectiveness of care plan.
