About The Position

UPMC Touchstone Medical Imaging is opening a new location in York, Pennsylvania, offering cost-effective and convenient outpatient diagnostic imaging services. This is a joint venture between UPMC and Touchstone Medical Imaging, a leader in outpatient imaging. The Physician Assistant will serve as the Site Manager, responsible for delivering high-quality, efficient, and effective services to imaging patients and their families in a high complexity center. This role includes overseeing contrast administration, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, supervising daily activities, patient flow, operations, clinical procedures, and staff performance. The position also involves participating in short-term and long-range planning and business development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current unrestricted Pennsylvania licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • Current DEA registration if required for job duties
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • At least 3 years of experience as a licensed Physician’s Assistant (Advanced Practitioner Provider)
  • Business management experience
  • Knowledge of financial acumen and ability to manage P&L
  • Graduate level education
  • Ability to take initiative to improve processes, think strategically and identify trends
  • Ability to provide open, honest feedback to improve decision making
  • Ability to influence across the organization and work effectively with all levels of management and staff
  • Ability to maintain and build constructive relationships that produce results

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments and determine appropriateness for contrast administration in accordance with established protocols and applicable regulations.
  • Monitor patients receiving IV contrast.
  • Evaluate and manage contrast reactions and extravasations.
  • Document all contrast-related events, patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Provide clinical decision-making and support regarding contrast administration and patient safety.
  • Manage center(s) within a single geographic area.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with joint venture partnerships.
  • Act as the owner of the P&L with responsibility for escalating issues and concerns.
  • Develop, review, and implement action plans based on financial reporting to enhance center performance.
  • Attend training to stay up to date on best practices and protocols.
  • Implement and manage the training and onboarding program for new associates.
  • Participate in the staff planning and hiring process for new associates.
  • Lead regular team and department meetings and employee one-on-ones.
  • Monitor and approve timecards on a daily or weekly basis.
  • Lead, initiate, and participate in annual performance evaluations, development and performance management of associates.
  • Establish associate schedules to provide for planned time off, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adequate coverage.
  • Evaluate, implement, and manage workflow and process improvements for the department.
  • Ensure the department has knowledge of company and department policies and corresponding procedures are in place.
  • Support employees ensuring highest level of patient satisfaction.
  • Develop methods for measuring and monitoring team and department performance.
