About The Position

AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a Physician Assistant – Family Medicine to provide primary care services at the 633rd Medical Group, Langley Air Force Base, VA. The provider will evaluate and treat patients, manage acute and chronic conditions, prescribe treatments, provide preventive care, and collaborate with healthcare teams in a military outpatient clinic setting. The Physician Assistant will support military readiness, maintain accurate medical documentation, and comply with DHA, MTF, and Joint Commission standards while participating in required training and quality improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Graduate from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtained within three months of start date
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or obtained within three months of start date
  • Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) certification required or obtained within six months of start date
  • Experience sufficient to meet DHA clinical competency and credentialing requirements.
  • Must possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in any U.S. state, territory, or District of Columbia.
  • Strong knowledge of family medicine and primary care practices
  • Ability to independently evaluate and manage patients

  • Contract personnel must comply with all DHA and MTF immunization and occupational health requirements, including: Annual influenza vaccination, Tuberculosis screening, Hepatitis B vaccination/titer requirements, MMR immunity verification, N95 mask fit testing as required
  • Ability to successfully complete required background investigation and credentialing process
  • Completion of SF-85 security questionnaire
  • Electronic fingerprinting required
  • Credentialing package completion required prior to start date

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in family medicine, urgent care, primary care, military medicine, or outpatient clinical settings is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) Director.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the contract Performance Work Statement (PWS), DHA policies, and MTF regulations.
  • Maintain professional standards, clinical competency, patient confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Participate in peer review, quality assurance, risk management, and performance improvement activities.
  • Utilize electronic medical record systems including MHS GENESIS, CHCS, AHLTA, and Essentris as required.
  • Maintain responsiveness to official government communications, including DHA email and voicemail systems.
  • Comply with infection control, safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and annual mandatory training requirements.
  • Provide patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
  • Manage acute illnesses, chronic conditions, and minor injuries
  • Conduct physicals, wellness visits, immunizations, and preventive care
  • Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice
  • Perform authorized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and specialists
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical documentation
  • Educate patients and families on treatment and health management
  • Support military readiness and occupational health requirements
  • Participate in mandatory training, continuing education, and quality improvement activities
