Physician Assistant - Inpatient Medicine/Psych | Full-Time, Day Shift (Brooklyn Campus)
About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant for its Inpatient Med-Psych service. This role involves working collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex psychiatric and medical needs. The service operates on a state-of-the-art, 24-bed inpatient psychiatry unit, including four higher-acuity medical-psychiatric beds, designed for patients with coexisting psychiatric and medical conditions. The Physician Assistant will provide 24-hour coverage, manage all aspects of inpatient medical care, conduct daily patient rounds, evaluate and manage medical conditions, document patient care, order and interpret diagnostic tests, respond to emergencies, coordinate consults, manage admissions/transfers/discharges, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current New York State Physician Assistant license
- NCCPA certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- New York State Infection Control Certification
- DEA registration with compliance for New York State Opioid Prescriber Training requirements
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of Physician Assistant experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, or a related inpatient setting
Responsibilities
