About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant for its Inpatient Med-Psych service. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients with complex psychiatric and medical needs. The service operates on a 24-bed inpatient psychiatry unit, including four higher-acuity medical-psychiatric beds, offering an integrated approach to treatment for patients with coexisting conditions. The Physician Assistant will manage all aspects of inpatient medical care, including daily rounds, evaluation and management of medical conditions, documentation, ordering diagnostic tests, responding to emergencies, coordinating consults, and managing admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current New York State Physician Assistant license
NCCPA certification
BLS and ACLS certifications
New York State Infection Control Certification
DEA registration with compliance for New York State Opioid Prescriber Training requirements

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of Physician Assistant experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, emergency medicine, psychiatry, or a related inpatient setting
