About The Position

UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its neurosurgery team, serving patients with complex neurological and spine disorders. The role involves collaborative care with a team of four neurosurgeons and four advanced practice providers, including surgical and nonsurgical patient management. Work includes outpatient clinic, hospital rounds, and assisting with neurosurgical cases. The position is full-time, five days per week, with one weekend of neurosurgery call per month. The weekly schedule is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Annual salary is $118,000–$128,000.

Requirements

• Physician Assistant license in Illinois or eligibility for licensure.
• Physician Assistant certification.
• Surgical First Assist certification required.
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in neurosurgery is preferred.
• Surgical experience is preferred; motivated candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic testing for neurosurgery consults.
• Assist with the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management of neurosurgery patients.
• Provide surgical first assist in the operating room for neurosurgery cases.
• Participate in outpatient clinic, hospital rounds, and weekend neurosurgery call coverage with an attending physician.
