About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join their team in Eden, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care in an urgent care setting, with services also including primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This opportunity is suitable for PAs early in their careers, including new graduates. The position offers comprehensive support, including orientation, training shifts, a CME allowance, a free UpToDate subscription, and an on-call provider for clinical decision-making support. PAs will utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages from babies to geriatric individuals, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The role emphasizes leadership, with PAs acting as the primary medical provider in the clinic and leading a team of medical assistants. The position also supports rural communities by providing access to care in underserved areas, with clinics open 362 days a year. The role is described as a two-year commitment that offers significant returns for career growth and community impact.

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (we cover the cost of the certification).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Perform General Orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist, too).
  • Handle General Dermatology.
  • Address General eye problems.
  • Perform General EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize Emergency management skills.
  • Demonstrate General GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide Occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct Telemedicine.
