About The Position

Mid Cities Psychiatry specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health illnesses, including treatment-resistant depression and substance use disorders. We are looking for a Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA) to join our highly trained and diversified team of mental health professionals. The role involves seeing patients in an outpatient clinic setting, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating behavioral or emotional disorders for ages 16 and up. Responsibilities include conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations, developing treatment plans, prescribing medication, evaluating treatment results, and coordinating with an interdisciplinary team. The clinic offers a structured environment with a culture of collaboration, an open-door policy from leadership, and dedicated administrative support for providers. Appointments are not double-booked, and hybrid appointments are scheduled based on patient needs. Requirements

  • Master's degree (Required)
  • PA licensure from the Texas State Board of Physician Assistants
  • Certification from NCCPA
  • US work authorization (Required)
  • At least 2 years of experience in clinical settings
  • Strong clinical background with solid experience in Psychiatry
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, collaborative, curious, and proactive
  • Responsive to a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of EMR/EHR
  • Eligibility for US employment (U.S. Citizens, U.S. Lawful Permanent Residents, Foreign nationals on a valid J1 visa in the U.S. at time of application)

Responsibilities

  • Seeing patients in an outpatient clinic
  • Evaluating, identifying, diagnosing, and treating patients with behavioral or emotional disorders for ages 16 and up
  • Conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations
  • Developing treatment plans
  • Prescribing medication
  • Evaluating treatment results
  • Coordinating and communicating with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, therapists) in managing patient challenges/behavioral dysfunction
  • Completing notes in a timely fashion
