Requirements
- Completion of an accredited education program for PAs
- Previous correctional/detention facility experience
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience
- Unrestricted current license, certification or registration in state of practice
- Must maintain all certifications, educational requirements, licensing, etc.
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and PALS (where applicable) certification through AHA
- Must reside in the United States

Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive medical care to inmates under the supervision of medical leadership.
- Evaluates and treats acute and emergency complaints.
- Participates in administrative meetings.
- Supports cross-coverage needs.
- Collaborates with physicians and mental health professionals, ensuring clinical documentation and treatment align with protocols.
- Maintains patient privacy.
- Contributes to quality improvement activities.
- Coordinates emergency care.
- Provides psychiatric assessment support.
- Delivers acute and emergency medical care in accordance with protocols.
- Consults with physicians and manages patient transfers when clinically indicated.
- Documents all findings using the S.O.A.P. method and EMR systems.
- Maintains HIPAA compliance and participates in quality improvement efforts.
- Provides cross-coverage and supports psychiatric stability assessments.
