About The Position
The Physician Assistant will perform comprehensive assessments, examinations, and follow-up care for cardiology patients. This role involves assisting in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and collaborating with a healthcare team to develop patient care plans. The position also includes educating patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited PA program
- Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in NC
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Excellent communication, clinical, and teamwork skills
Nice To Haves
- 1+ year of experience in Cardiology or Internal Medicine preferred (new grads with strong clinical rotations in cardiology will be considered)
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments, examinations, and follow-up care for cardiology patients
- Assist in diagnosing and managing acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including ECGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to develop and implement patient care plans
- Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
