About The Position

York General is launching a new and evolving Hospitalist Program and is seeking a Hospitalist - Physician Assistant (PA-C) to help shape and grow this innovative service. This unique role offers the opportunity to provide inpatient hospitalist coverage while also supporting Family Medicine's Quick Clinic services as needed. As a Hospitalist Physician Assistant, you'll work closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current Nebraska PA-C licensure and NCCPA certification
• Prescriptive authority in accordance with Nebraska regulations
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Inpatient/Hospitalist care preferred

Responsibilities

• Managing hospitalized patients through admissions, daily rounding, care coordination, and discharge planning
• Responding to clinical needs of assigned inpatients during hospitalist coverage
• Performing comprehensive patient assessments, examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
• Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions
• Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
• Ordering diagnostic tests and prescribing medications in accordance with scope of practice
• Educating patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive health
• Accurately documenting care within the electronic health record
• Assisting with Family Medicine's Quick Clinic coverage as organizational needs evolve
