About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join their team in Kinston, NC. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care in a fast-paced, high-volume urgent care environment. The PA will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, performing minor procedures, and utilizing their full scope of practice to treat patients of all ages, from infants to geriatrics. The position offers significant support, including orientation, training shifts, a complimentary pediatric urgent care course, and an on-call provider for clinical decision-making assistance. PAs will also act as leaders for their medical assistant teams, guiding and inspiring them. The role emphasizes serving rural communities with limited access to care, with clinics open 362 days a year. Many clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, which MainStreet Family Care assists with. Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (cost covered by employer).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures such as toenail removal and foreign object removal.
  • Suture wounds.
  • Splint fractures.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations and management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by a Radiologist).
  • Address general dermatology issues.
  • Manage general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Demonstrate general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
