Requirements

MS: Physician Assistant (Required)
PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - NYS Office of Professions
Moderate clinical roles require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning.
Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments.
High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns.
Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus.
Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

Preference for experienced Surgical First Assist Physician Assistants.

Responsibilities

Surgical First Assist in the Operating Room.
Medical Surgical Floor coverage including daily rounding and progress notes.
Managing orders, admissions, discharges, and consults.
Working with primarily General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patients.
Collaborating with St. Lawrence Region Physicians and providers as well as other Physicians and providers within the RRH system.
Covering approximately 5 calls per month, including one weekend.
Providing four hours of floor coverage on Saturday/Sunday during scheduled weekend call.
