About The Position

A licensed practitioner, under the guidance of the Supervising Physician (if Advanced Practice Provider) or Medical Director of School Based Health, coordinates and implements the practice of the School Based Health program. Provides comprehensive healthcare and referral services to students and supports parents/guardians in caring for their children.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved medical college
  • Completed internship and residency training from an approved medical facility­Pediatrics or Family Practice.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics or Family Practice
  • Graduate from an approved Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
  • Certified by the respective Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner commission.
  • Must have a valid New York State Registration
  • Must have Infection Control certification by a State approved facility
  • Must have current copy of DEA Certificate
  • Must have CPR/BLS certification
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
  • The ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas) scientific equation, graphs, musical notes, etc.) In its most difficult phases. Also, the ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Write speeches and articles using original or innovation techniques or style.
  • Make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or broad of directors.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an EMR and its implementation is preferred
  • Ability to speak additional languages, particularly Spanish preferred.
