About The Position

MainStreet Family Care is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing team in Burlington, NC. The PA will provide patient-focused care, aiming to help patients feel better quickly. The services offered include urgent care, primary medical care, telemedicine, and occupational medicine. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a small team in a high-volume, fast-paced urgent care environment. This opportunity is suitable for PAs early in their careers, including new graduates. The company provides comprehensive on-site orientation and training, with additional training shifts alongside experienced providers. Support includes a complimentary pediatric urgent care course and an on-call provider for clinical decision-making assistance. The role allows PAs to utilize their full scope of practice, treating patients of all ages, from infants to geriatric patients, which helps keep skills sharp and enhances marketability. The PA will act as the primary medical provider in the clinic, with treatment protocols available to guide decision-making. They will also serve as a leader and professional role model for their medical assistant team. The clinics support rural communities with limited access to care, operating 362 days a year. Many clinics qualify for tuition reimbursement or student loan reimbursement grants, and the company assists with the application process. This role is presented as a significant career launchpad, with a commitment of two years expected from the provider.

Requirements

  • Physician Assistant Board Certification required.
  • MSN, or higher education required.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (company covers the cost).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in EMR and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for every patient who comes through the door within your scope of practice.
  • Diagnose and treat cold, flu, strep, COVID, and other upper respiratory issues.
  • Perform minor procedures (toenail removal, foreign object removal, etc.).
  • Suture.
  • Splint.
  • Conduct general orthopedic evaluations/management.
  • Review x-rays (to be over-read by Radiologist).
  • Handle general dermatology issues.
  • Address general eye problems.
  • Perform general EKG interpretations.
  • Utilize emergency management skills.
  • Demonstrate general GYN expertise.
  • Treat children of all ages.
  • Provide occupational medicine services.
  • Conduct telemedicine appointments.
