About The Position

About the Opportunity A busy and growing otolaryngology (ENT) practice, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate part-time Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in Homewood, Alabama. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside an experienced ENT physician and skilled clinical staff. Position Summary The PA will provide comprehensive patient care in both clinical and procedural settings. Responsibilities include evaluating and managing patients with ear, nose, and throat conditions, assisting with in-office procedures, and supporting the practice in delivering high-quality specialty care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and eager to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced specialty clinic.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Alabama license as a Physician Assistant.
  • National certification (NCCPA).
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Bachelor’s degree and completion of an accredited PA program.
  • National certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a PA, preferably in a clinic or specialty practice.
  • Advanced clinical knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, and diagnostic techniques.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient evaluations, obtain medical histories, and perform physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic ENT-related conditions.
  • Assist in minor in-office procedures, postoperative care, and patient follow-ups.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing or dispensing medications in accordance with state law.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement, peer review, and continuing education activities.
