Physician Assistant - Wound Care
About The Position
Meritus Health is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our Wound Care Center. This role involves working independently and in collaboration with Physicians to deliver care and integrate patient services for patients with the goal of achieving specific clinical, financial, and satisfaction outcomes. The position requires coordinating with the patient's healthcare team, adhering to ethical principles, and delivering healthcare in a therapeutic and professional manner. The wound center treats a variety of wounds including acute traumatic wounds, chronic and complex wounds, pressure ulcers, venous ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, and post-operative wound dehiscence, utilizing advanced treatment modalities such as total contact casting, wound vacs, PICO vacs, cellular based tissue products, and ostomy care.
Requirements
- Masters in Physician Assistant required.
- One year experience as a Physician Assistant preferred.
- License to practice as Physician Assistant in the State of Maryland required.
- Current DEA Registration and CDS permit required.
- Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy required.
- ACLS in compliance with policy required.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, extensive clinical competence and expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to work well with all disciplines at all levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Fluency in coding, ICD-10 and CPT, or commitment to acquire.
- Will have EHR computer access

- Wound experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Delivering care and integrate patient services to patients with the goal of achieving specific clinical, financial and satisfaction outcomes for specific patient populations and disease processes.
- Coordinate with patient's healthcare team and adhere to ethical principles of practice as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and the ANA code of ethics for nurses.
- Delivers healthcare in a therapeutic and professional manner demonstrating sensitivity towards unique patient/significant other needs.
- Preserves and protects the patient's autonomy, dignity, rights, values, and beliefs.
- Demonstrates the ability to advocate for the patients.
