About The Position

Under the supervision of a physician, this role provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services. The Physician Assistant will obtain patient history, perform assessments, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures. They will provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, offer counseling and education to patients and their families, and may perform preventative health assessments, screenings, and immunizations. Accurate and timely documentation of patient care plans is essential. The role may also involve coordinating registration functions and assisting in the operating room.

Requirements

• No experience required
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies required upon hire OR Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
• Physician Asst - Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Kentucky required upon hire
• NCCPA - National Physician Assistant certification through National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
• May be required to perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care.
• Provides accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan.
• May coordinate the registration functions including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, employer information, and co-payments.
• May assist in operating room.
