About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, with over 135 years of service, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join its Robotic Surgery Team. This role is crucial in advancing the hospital's mission of 'Putting Patients First' through collaboration, respect, and high-quality care. As a clinical partner, you will work alongside leading surgeons and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care. The Advanced and Minimally Invasive Surgery program at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, one of the nation's original surgical teaching hospitals, utilizes cutting-edge techniques, including robotic surgery. This position offers a unique opportunity to be a frontline provider, ensuring continuity of care for surgical patients throughout their hospital stay.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in robotic surgery
- Experience with Intuitive Surgical systems (Xi, X, and/or dV5)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current New York State PA licensure
- NCCPA certification
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- NYS Infection Control certification
- DEA registration with NYS Opioid Prescriber Training compliance
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience in surgical inpatient medicine
Responsibilities
- Providing intraoperative bedside assistance during robotic procedures
- Rounding with surgical teams to evaluate and manage patients
- Writing progress notes and placing orders
- Performing bedside procedures as needed
- Delivering coordinated, high-quality care across the patient journey
