About The Position

NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, with over 135 years of service, is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their Robotic Surgery Team. This role involves playing a vital part in advancing the hospital's mission of 'Putting Patients First' through collaboration, respect, and high-quality care. As a Physician Assistant, you will be a valued clinical partner working alongside leading surgeons and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. The hospital's Advanced and Minimally Invasive Surgery program, founded on a legacy of pioneering surgery, utilizes cutting-edge techniques, including robotic surgery. The Robotic Surgery Physician Assistants support various surgical specialties such as General Surgery, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Gynecology, and Urology. In this role, you will function as a key member of the surgical care team, providing intraoperative bedside assistance during robotic procedures, rounding with surgical teams to evaluate and manage patients, writing progress notes, placing orders, performing bedside procedures, and delivering coordinated, high-quality care across the patient journey. You will serve as a frontline provider, ensuring continuity of care for surgical patients throughout their hospital stay.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in robotic surgery
  • Experience with Intuitive Surgical systems (Xi, X, and/or dV5)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current New York State PA licensure
  • NCCPA certification
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • NYS Infection Control certification
  • DEA registration with NYS Opioid Prescriber Training compliance

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience in surgical inpatient medicine
