Physician Assistant - Robotic/General Surgery | Full-Time
About The Position
NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant to join their Robotic/General Surgery team. This role involves providing comprehensive, patient-centered care as a clinical partner to leading surgeons and healthcare professionals. The hospital has a long history of serving the community and is known for its advanced surgical techniques, including robotic surgery. The Physician Assistant will support various surgical specialties such as General Surgery, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Gynecology, and Urology. This is a full-time position with a flexible shift coverage schedule from Monday to Friday.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in surgical inpatient medicine
- At least 1 year of experience in robotic surgery
- Experience with Intuitive Surgical systems (Xi, X, and/or dV5)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current New York State PA licensure
- NCCPA certification
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- NYS Infection Control certification
- DEA registration with NYS Opioid Prescriber Training compliance
Responsibilities
- Providing intraoperative bedside assistance during robotic procedures
- Rounding with surgical teams to evaluate and manage patients
- Writing progress notes and placing orders
- Performing bedside procedures as needed
- Delivering coordinated, high-quality care across the patient journey
- Serving as a frontline provider, ensuring continuity of care for surgical patients throughout their hospital stay
