Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is one of the nation’s original surgical teaching hospitals. Its Department of Surgery was founded by pioneering surgeon Dr. Lewis S. Pilcher, a founder of The Annals of Surgery. Today, our Advanced and Minimally Invasive Surgery program continues this legacy through cutting-edge, innovative techniques—including robotic surgery. Robotic Surgery Physician Assistants support a wide range of surgical specialties, including: General Surgery, Colorectal, Bariatrics, Gynecology, Urology. In this role, you will function as a key member of the surgical care team, with responsibilities that include: Providing intraoperative bedside assistance during robotic procedures, Rounding with surgical teams to evaluate and manage patients, Writing progress notes and placing orders, Performing bedside procedures as needed, Delivering coordinated, high-quality care across the patient journey. You will serve as a frontline provider, ensuring continuity of care for surgical patients throughout their hospital stay.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in robotic surgery
  • Experience with Intuitive Surgical systems (Xi, X, and/or dV5)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current New York State PA licensure
  • NCCPA certification
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • NYS Infection Control certification
  • DEA registration with NYS Opioid Prescriber Training compliance
