About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Physician Assistant - Pre-Anesthesia to join the team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. This role involves conducting comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments, including patient history and physical exams. The Physician Assistant will order and review necessary tests, perform medication reconciliation, identify clinical concerns, and coordinate specialist consultations for medical optimization and pre-procedural clearance. Additionally, the role includes providing patient education, issuing prescriptions, giving pre-procedure instructions, and coordinating interpreter services as needed. Collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary team is essential, as is supporting quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Current Physician Assistant NYS registration
• Current certification issued by the NCCPA
• DEA Certification

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments, including patient history and physical exams.
• Order and review labs, EKGs, imaging, and other pre-procedural testing.
• Perform medication reconciliation and make appropriate medication adjustments.
• Identify clinical concerns and coordinate specialist consultations, medical optimization, and pre-procedural clearance.
• Provide patient education, prescriptions, and pre-procedure instructions.
• Coordinate interpreter services, as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.
• Support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
