About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Physician Assistant - Plastic Surgery to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. Harlem Hospital is a major healthcare provider in Central Harlem and the only Safety Net Hospital in Northern Manhattan, offering centers of excellence in Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging, and Sexual Assault Forensics. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. The Physician Assistant will provide patient care under the supervision of a physician, performing diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to extend the physician's services. Physician Assistants may exercise autonomy in decision-making within their scope of experience and training, with a focus on patient care, and may also be involved in educational, research, and administrative activities.

Requirements

• Current certification/admissibility issued by the NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
• Current NYS Registration
• BLS Certification
• Infection Control Certification

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, under the responsibility and supervision of a physician.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic tasks to allow the physician to extend their services.
• Exercise autonomy in decision making within the constraints of appropriate experience and training, within the physician/physician assistant relationship.
• Focus on patient care, which may include educational, research, and administrative activities.
