About The Position

The Physician Assistant (PA) works collaboratively as part of a care team to provide quality comprehensive primary medical care services to Sea Mar patients. This role focuses on team-based coordinated care, clinical affairs, and improving the patient care experience while adhering to organization-wide mission and core values. Sea Mar Community Health Centers, founded in 1978, is a community-based organization committed to providing quality, comprehensive health, human, housing, educational and cultural services to diverse communities, specializing in service to Latinos in Washington State. Sea Mar's network of services includes more than 90 medical, dental, and behavioral health clinics and a wide variety of nutritional, social, and educational services. Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree or a minimum of two (2) years of college credits.
  • State licensed Physician Assistant-Certified.
  • Successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Notation of approval on license to prescribe legend drugs, and a current DEA certificate if requesting privileges for controlled substances.
  • Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and maintain throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of and interest in the unique cultural aspects of the Hispanic people.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary medical care services in accordance with training, experience, certification, insurance, and licensure, under the supervision of medical leadership.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary.
  • Prescribe and/or dispense required medication according to Washington State Board prescriptive authority and with the sponsoring physician's supervision.
  • Participate in preventive health programs (immunizations, disease detection/prevention) and approved education programs for patients and community groups.
  • Participate in clinical affairs and work with administrative and medical leadership to improve patient care.
  • Provide care for special groups of patients such as those in nursing homes or other institutions when appropriate.
