About The Position

Make an impact on your patient’s life as an Advanced Practice Provider, a licensed medical provider, for General Surgery patients. Under the supervision of an attending surgeon/physician, you would be aiding in the management of your patients in a variety of areas: inpatient, peri-operative and intra-operative care. You would extend the services of the attending surgeon/physician by: acting as a liaison for the supervising physician, obtaining histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting imaging, laboratory and other diagnostic tests, prescribing medications & therapies, performing and assisting in common bedside procedures.

Requirements

• 2 years' experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, or Board-Eligible Graduate preferred.
• New graduates with Inpatient and Surgical rotations required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited physician assistant/surgical assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
• Must be Certified ( PA-C or NP) or new graduate who is eligible for certification.
• Active license with Pennsylvania State Board of Medical Education and Licensure.
• Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Successful completion of the MLH credentialing process through the Medical Staff office, with temporary or permanent privileges approved.
