About The Position

Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a Cardiology Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide comprehensive patient care across outpatient clinic, inpatient services, and cardiovascular procedures. This role includes surgical first assist responsibilities, supporting cardiologists and procedural teams. Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current NCCPA certification required
  • Active Michigan Physician Assistant license required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1–2 years of cardiology or surgical experience required
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical first assist experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic interpretation
  • Provide care across outpatient clinic and inpatient settings
  • Manage pre-procedure and post-procedure cardiac patients in collaboration with cardiology providers
  • Serve as Surgical First Assist in cardiovascular procedures within scope and credentialing
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for acute and chronic cardiac conditions
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests including ECGs, stress tests, imaging, and lab results
  • Perform delegated clinical procedures such as wound care, suture removal, and line support
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, and follow-up care
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, surgeons, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocol development
