UPMC Central PA seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant that will work cooperatively with physicians, other PA’s/NP’s, RN’s and other allied health personnel in the Department of Hematology/Oncology at our York cancer center location. This position will include both inpatient consultation services and outpatient clinic services. CRNPs are expected to obtain their advanced oncology certified nurse practitioner certification (AOCP) within 3 years of hire. UPMC Central PA provides a unique opportunity to work with the world-renowned Hillman Cancer Center, while maintaining point of care as close to home as possible. All of our cancer center APPs report directly to a supervising APP. Our Central PA hem/onc team continues tremendous growth over the last few years and we lean on the experiences of each other and our physicians as we strive to provide the best cancer care in the area. The Staff or Senior Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a Physician Assistant or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner and a member of the care delivery team. The APP is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The APP has responsibility, authority, and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician. The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. The role of the APP encompasses the beginnings of leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision. The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients, and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. The APP begins to demonstrate a commitment to the community and to their healthcare profession.
