Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either a motivated Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to work with our Department of Otolaryngology. This APP will provide care in a hybrid practice setting that includes outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding and OR. Morning inpatient rounding prior to clinic or OR responsibilities, with inpatient volumes typically averaging 1 to 2 patients per week, and will manage ED and inpatient consults during office hours. The role offers a graduated progression to maintaining 3 to 4 clinic days per week, caring for new, established, and post-operative patients. Procedural Opportunities: The APP will perform microscope-assisted ear canal debridement/cleaning, intratympanic injections, mastoid bowl care, suture and staple removal, and other minor outpatient otologic procedures. Candidates interested in procedural practice may also have the opportunity to participate in the operating room and first assist on complex otologic and lateral skull base surgeries. The APP will join a collegial team dedicated exclusively to the care of ear and lateral skull base disorders, working closely with physicians and audiologists. Supported by more than 40 years of established reputation and referral growth. The team provides comprehensive quaternary-level care for vestibular schwannoma (acoustic neuroma), cerebrospinal fluid leaks, paragangliomas, lateral skull base tumors, hearing loss, chronic ear disease, tympanic membrane perforations, cholesteatoma, otosclerosis, adult cochlear implants, and other complex otologic disorders.
