Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner - Comprehensive Cancer Center (1.0 FTE)
About The Position
We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner to join our Comprehensive Cancer Center team. In this role, you will assess the health status and perform clinical examinations and consultations with cancer patients and cancer survivors seeking care. You will be responsible for the assessment of designated patients referred to the infusion center for administering intravenous medication and will manage chemotherapy following established standards and practices. You will work closely with physicians in the Oncology Clinic, caring for patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiation as part of their cancer treatment, and troubleshoot the care of patients experiencing side effects from treatments. This position holds day hours Monday – Friday only, no after hours or weekend duties, with 36 patient facing hours per week. You will also be attending cancer care and tumor conferences.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program
- Current license to practice (or ability to obtain license) to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant in the State of Minnesota
- Previous experience as an Oncology APP
- Must obtain Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) within 2 years (24 months) of date of hire.
