About The Position

This position offers a unique opportunity to provide care across two settings. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will spend approximately 50% of their time in the Emergency Department and 50% of their time in the After Hours Clinic, providing high-quality care to patients with a variety of urgent and emergent medical needs.

Requirements

Active American Heart Association ACLS and PALS certifications are required upon hire and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment.
Physician Assistant: Requires graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Active Colorado Physician Assistant licensure required.
Nurse Practitioner: Requires active Colorado Licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in area of specialty based on RN licensure and Colorado authority for advanced practice.

Nice To Haves

ATLS certification is preferred but not required.
3 to 5 years working experience in an Emergency Department and/or clinical setting in a similar role preferred.
Physician Assistant: National Physician Assistant certification through NCCPA preferred.
Physician Assistant: Master’s Degree in area of specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations and compiles patient medical data including health history and results of examinations.
Works in collaboration with physicians to assess the physical needs of patients seen in the Emergency Department
Orders, interprets and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians and other departments.
Collaborates with hospitalists and specialists regarding transfers and admissions when appropriate.
Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment.
Participates in quality assurance planning, initiatives and improvement projects.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Weekend hourly rate of pay will be $82.00
