This position provides high quality medical care by examining patients and determining the appropriate treatment plans for illness or injuries. The physician conducts examinations, assesses and evaluates symptoms, determines conditions and prescribes medical treatment or services. Work with the healthcare team to provide patients with emergency medical care services. Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications and treatment regimens to treat medical conditions. Order laboratory and diagnostic tests, obtain medical consultation when clinically indicated. Analyze reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose and manage condition of patients. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required. Adhere to organization and departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Document patient care conversations, care provided and all other work as defined by organizational standards in the EMR. Promotes and contributes to a positive work environment, serving others with professional and positive attitude. Responsible to train, demonstrate, or guide others in the performance of assigned work, includes, but not limited to, medical students and resident physicians. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws. Maintain a clean and safe work area and take responsibility for departmental space. Participation in a modified, organizational wide new employee orientation, successful completion of departmental orientation, and other medical staff committees.
