About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Physician Assistant - Medicine to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. This role is part of a redesigned healthcare campus featuring a new hospital with emergency care, labor and delivery, and surgical services, as well as a Health & Wellness Institute for outpatient services. The hospital has strong academic affiliations with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. Requirements

• Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant
• Current certification issued by the NCCPA

Responsibilities

• Obtain comprehensive medical histories, perform thorough physical examinations, and accurately document clinical findings.
• Order, perform, and interpret routine diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and EKGs.
• Monitor patient status, promptly communicate significant clinical changes and diagnostic results to the supervising physician.
• Perform common bedside procedures, including injections, intravenous line placement, nasogastric and urinary catheterization, and other approved clinical interventions.
• Conduct daily patient rounds, assess clinical progress, and document evaluations and treatment plans in the medical record.
• Coordinate patient care by consulting and referring to appropriate medical and surgical subspecialists as needed.
