Grow your career at Cedars-Sinai! The Cardiovascular Intervention Center is a core element of the Smidt Heart Institute, performing more than 8,000 procedures a year. The department serves the populations of neonates to and including geriatrics. In this seven-laboratory facility, a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures is performed for coronary artery disease, heart muscle function and heart valve dysfunction. The Electrophysiology Laboratory is part of the Cardiovascular intervention Center. These procedures include electrophysiology studies , arrhythmia mapping, radiofrequency ablation, implantable cardioverter defibrillator and pacemaker implantation. Why work here? Requirements
- One (1)+ years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an Acute hospital preferred.
- Three (3)+ years of acute nursing experience.
- Prior experience in cardiac or cardiac surgery is strongly preferred.
- Master of Nursing Degree
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered
- Current California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License
- National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NPI)
- Current California DEA 2-5 license and Furnishing License
- Current ACLS certification
Responsibilities
- Provide care to our Interventional Cardiology patient population in an outpatient setting.
- Responsible for the managing, planning, and coordinating of all aspects of care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Provide consultative services within the scope of service.
- Obtain and perform history and physical examinations.
- Record and interpret pertinent data (i.e., labs, diagnostic studies, progress notes, etc.), including writing orders under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Write progress notes and collate records utilizing the electronic medical record.
- Coordinate ongoing overall patient care with physicians, staff, nursing staff, and other ancillary care providers to ensure treatment plans are implemented.
- Maintain communication with patients and families regarding care.
