About The Position

Advanced Practice Provider Pediatric EC Full Time Days 7A-7P (84 HR) Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited Masters Level Program for Advanced Practice Provider or Nurse Practitioner. Critical care and/or emergency center experience desired. Required Licensures / Certifications / Registrations Must hold or be eligible for Texas State Licensure (i.e. Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.) Nurse Practitioner Must be Family Practice Certified Environmental / Working Conditions This position is subject to inside environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions, not necessarily from temperature changes. Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships. This position requires close interaction with other ancillary departments in order to facilitate a quality multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. Job Description Under the direction of the department Medical Director and department Nurse Director or supervising physician (whichever applies) is responsible for following standard medical practice, in assessing patient needs and assisting in the planning and implementation of patient care. He/she will be responsible for providing patient and family support, coordination of care and education. He/she will be familiar with the hospitals mission, vision, philosophy, policies and procedures, and be in compliance with the same. Physical Capabilities Visual and auditory acuity required continuously. The ability to speak is required frequently. The ability to sit for extended periods is required frequently. Lifting/carrying requirements are light but may occur moderately. The ability to walk/transport oneself in a timely manner is required frequently. Skills and Abilities Must maintain the same competencies as required of the clinical staff in the Emergency Center/Minor Care/Triage setting. Current knowledge of triage process and related regulatory standards appropriate for the area of responsibility (i.e. JCAHO, TDH, etc…). Must demonstrate a working knowledge of leadership and management skills. Excellent basic medical knowledge with clinical skills and judgment. Possesses analytical skills to evaluate care needs, ability to gather relevant clinical data, perform thorough physical examinations, and assist with clinical patient management.
