About The Position

Atlantic Health is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join the ENT group at New Providence, affiliated with Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center. This is a great opportunity in Northern New Jersey within one of New Jersey’s largest integrated health care systems. The team consists of experienced board-certified surgeons and a skilled physician assistant who are experts in many types of surgeries, from in-office procedures to minimally invasive procedures. The candidate will have the opportunity to join a busy and growing practice, located in an office which was recently renovated with 13 exam rooms and state of the art equipment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in an OR setting with in-patient follow-up or consult. The responsibilities will be multi-venue (OR, ER, hospital floor, office) and consist of a combination of direct patient care (inpatient and outpatient). The Physician Assistant performs assessments of health status for both the outpatient and inpatient settings, participates in diagnosis of health status, develops plans of care, and implementation of treatment. Outpatient office responsibilities include coordination of preoperative patient care, ordering tests, and preoperative clearances, and scheduling procedures. The schedule for this position is Monday – Friday (days), no weekends, and no on-call required.

Requirements

Must be a Physician Assistant.
Comfortable in an OR setting with in-patient follow-up or consult.
Experience in multi-venue settings (OR, ER, hospital floor, office).

Responsibilities

Perform assessments of health status for both outpatient and inpatient settings.
Participate in the diagnosis of health status.
Develop plans of care and implement treatment.
Coordinate preoperative patient care.
Order tests and preoperative clearances.
Schedule procedures.
Provide direct patient care (inpatient and outpatient).
Be comfortable in an OR setting with in-patient follow-up or consult.
