About The Position
Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport & Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center – Shreveport seeks applicants to join our team at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, under the leadership of Wendy K. Bernstein, MD, MBA, FASA, FAMWA. This role involves teaching and mentoring residents and fellows, providing patient care across multiple sites, and contributing to a robust academic community. The position is located at the only Level I Trauma Center in the region.
Requirements
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Eligible for active Louisiana Medical Licensure
- Strong commitment to teaching, scholarly activity, and patient-centered care
Nice To Haves
- Advanced training/fellowship in Peds, OB, Critical Care, or Cardiac are encouraged to apply.
- New graduates welcome – mentorship provided to support early-career faculty.
Responsibilities
- Teach and mentor 32 residents and 3 pain fellows.
- Train future neuroanesthesiologists through our ICPNT-certified fellowship.
- Care for patients across multiple sites, including our Academic Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center, Feist-Weiller Cancer Center, and OLHS Regional Urology Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- Contribute to scholarly activity.
- Provide patient-centered care.
