About The Position

The West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Cardiology are seeking an Advanced Heart Failure physician. This role involves practicing in Morgantown, WV, with potential assignments to additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, requiring travel. The WVU Heart and Vascular Institute is West Virginia’s most comprehensive cardiovascular program, offering a full spectrum of subspecialties. The Advanced Heart Failure Program is the only comprehensive center for advanced therapies, including mechanical support and heart transplantation, in West Virginia.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligible for state medical license.
  • Completed internal medicine residency program.
  • Completed cardiovascular disease fellowship program.
  • Completed advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology fellowship program.
  • Board certified/eligible in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the areas of cardiology and advanced heart failure, including cardiogenic shock, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
