Physician - Academic Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist
About The Position
The Department of Cardiology at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a cardiologist who is BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation to join their team. The Ochsner Advanced Heart Failure team currently performs approximately 35 LVAD implantations and 25-30 heart transplants per year. The candidate would join a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate expertise in all aspects of Advanced Heart Failure, including inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services. Additionally, the team has a well-formed amyloidosis clinic, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy clinic, and a PHA-certified Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic. The candidate will also participate in a multidisciplinary cardiogenic shock initiative that is growing throughout the state and the Gulf South region. The role is in an academic environment and requires collaboration with a strong cardiology fellowship program that is integral to the inpatient team dynamic. The Department of Cardiology at OMC includes 45 cardiologists working at the academic medical center in New Orleans as part of a nationally recognized cardiology group of 80 cardiologists practicing at nine locations across southeast Louisiana and southwest Mississippi. The Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute is a regional leader in heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, and dual organ transplantation.
Requirements
- BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation
- Comfortable and interested in working in an academic environment
- Strong cardiology fellowship background
