About The Position
Under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant, and in accordance with State Practice Act, the Physical Therapy Technician will aide in carrying out the department's rehabilitation procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Candidates will be courteous, articulate, and reliable and must be able to multi-task in a busy, professional, fast-moving environment while maintaining excellent patient service.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 3 years experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Organize/schedule and keep records of ancillary services and support other center specific functions.
- Carries out activities delegated by supervisor as allowed under the State Practice Act.
- Cleans, sterilizes and prepares whirlpools following Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
- Cleans and maintains hyrdocollators, paraffin units and logs temperatures outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
- Keeps current with laundry and maintains full supply of therapy supplies.
- Cleans and maintains all other therapy/exercise equipment.
- Follows OSHA guidelines for safety inspections, cleaning, disinfecting, storage of chemicals, and disposal of waste.
- Observes and reports any abnormal patient conditions, reactions and responses to treatment in an effective, professional manner.
