About The Position

Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join their OP Therapy Department at their Bucyrus location. The PTA will be responsible for providing and administering specific physical therapy treatments under the direct supervision of a staff Physical Therapist. This role involves assisting patients in restoring function, preventing disability, and reaching their maximum performance levels. The PTA will also participate in departmental operations, performance improvement activities, CQI, infection control, equipment training, and safety programs.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program and possess an associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
Must be licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Ohio.
Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

Provision and administration of specific physical therapy treatments only under the direct supervision of the staff Physical Therapist.
Assisting with restoration of patient functioning to prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.
Assisting patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.
Participating in operational aspects of the department.
Maintaining performance improvement activities within the department.
Participating in CQI activities.
Participating in all infection control, departmental equipment training, organizational safety and fire safety programs.
